Chocolate Banana Prebiotic Smoothie

Familiar flavors, just carrying a bit more function! 

Chocolate and banana have always made good culinary bedfellows. Spend five minutes scrolling through Pinterest, and you’ll run into endless examples of the pairing done well—pancakes, banana breads, ice cream, muffins, and, maybe most naturally of all, smoothies. 

This recipe from Lizzie Cawley sticks close to that classic pairing but gives it a more functional edge through a plant-powered boost from some of Sunwarrior’s best items: Warrior Blend Chocolate Protein Powder, Organic Cacao, and Be Well Prebiotic Blend. 

The protein powder gives the smoothie more substance than a standard fruit blend, giving a punch of nutrition for the muscles through its comprehensive amino acid profile. The cacao sharpens and deepens the chocolate flavor, giving the smoothie a richer character. And lastly, the prebiotic fiber doesn’t really announce itself in the flavor, but it plays its role when it reaches the gut, giving just enough nourishment for better regularity and digestive wellness. 

Ingredients 

  • 1 banana 

  • 1 heaping tsp peanut butter 

  • 1 cup unsweetened plant milk 

  • Ice 

For the glass: 

  • 1 tsp peanut butter 

Instructions 

  1. Line the inside of a glass with peanut butter. 

  1. Add banana, protein powder, prebiotic blend, cocoa powder, peanut butter, plant milk, and ice to blender. 

  1. Blend until smooth and creamy. 

  1. Pour into prepared glass and serve immediately.
