When the heat’s relentless, your shirt’s soaked through, and your post-workout adrenaline still hasn’t settled, this protein-packed Ninja CREAMi ice cream in cake batter flavor is the cold reset you actually want. Summer workouts can leave you caught in that strange in-between: hungry and overheated, while craving a treat that’s satisfying but not heavy. A dense shake feels uninspired. A regular dessert doesn’t do much for recovery. 

This recipe by Lizzie Cawley stands somewhere better. Made with a plant-based protein powder and spun into a dessert that’s creamy, it scratches the itch for ice cream while pulling double duty as a post-workout snack. It’s cold enough to cool you down, nutritious enough to tide you over, and easy to throw together ahead of time, so it’s waiting in the freezer when you get back. 

Ingredients 

  • 16 oz oat milk 

  • Sprinkles (optional) 

Instructions 

  1. Blend oat milk and Sunwarrior Active Protein Powder until completely smooth. 

  1. Pour into a Ninja CREAMi container and freeze for 8-12 hours until solid. 

  1. Churn on Lite Ice Cream setting, then re-spin once or twice until smooth and creamy. 

  1. Add sprinkles and lightly mix in or sprinkle on top before serving.
